Who is counting? Sunday hapenings

Hey there!

How was you weekend? We are having a great time here, visiting with friends and family and just taking it easy.

It was such a blessing to be at our church yesterday. We had a little moment though after the night service.

Nicole, my middle daughter got saved last year. Because we don't have a baptistry we haven't had a chance to get her baptize. So when we found out that we were coming to the States we wanted to take advantage of that for Nicole baptism. So we talk to her about the meaning of it to make sure she understood, and she told us she wanted to be obedient to God and get baptize. So we talk to our pastor, and everything was ready to go.

So, during the invitation on our night service, we did what everyone does when they want to get baptize. They go forward (so I took Nicole and went with her). You go up and get change and then pastor gets in the baptistry and explain to everyone what is about to happen. Then the child gets in and get baptize.... only right at that point Nicole starts getting really nervous and started crying...... needless to say she did not get baptize....... So, we will continue talking, maybe practice some in the swimming pool :), and we will try again next Sunday.... Oh well..... It is something important and she needs to be ready....... and relax....... :)

So, I also had a little revelation last night during dinner. This is us and my family in Steak and Shake after the Sunday night service.

This is a photo of my niece Aracha and me with our dinners. Now, notice the size of her burguer and notice mine. Notice all the extra fries in my plate and how there are none in her plate...???
..... hey, I was drinking Coke Zero.... Does that count??

So, what is my little revelation? Do I have to say it? Why she is so skinny and why I am .......... not :).

Hey, that burguer was worth every calorie :)!!!

Have a great Monday everyone!

A vacation is meant to be enjoyed. Calorie counting is for after you get home again!
Nicole will get it eventually. Is Daddy baptizing her?

I love Steak and Shake. We have to drive 2 hours away to eat at one! So you don't feel a bit bad! Its worth every calorie!

I know what you mean. Sometimes I am more disciplined in my eating and sometimes I like to splurge!

She will want to do it when she's ready.

My husband has the kids hold their nose closed with their left hand, and then with his right hand he grasps their left arm that's holding their nose.

He then has them take their right free hand and has them grab hold of his right arm. His left arm is behind them, lowering them into the water.

I imagine everyone does it differently. My youngest wanted to be baptized but then he too changed his mind at the last minute, and wasn't ready until he was older. It happens!

You guys look like you're having a blast at the restaurant!

Bless her heart!

Just have a special service at you in-law's pool.

That's where my oldest was baptized...the pool behind the parsonage where we lived when my husband pastored in Georgia!!

Water...is water....and it doesn't have to be in front of all those people at church...just special friends and family...and daddy can do it....that would be special. Have a special little party after wards...finger foods and such...have fun with it!!

(Stay away from those hamburger and fries!...grits have less calories)

Hey you are on vacation at home! Enjoy those burgers. No one likes to watch what they eat on vacation.:)
I agree with Nina about the baptism thing. Do it in a small setting with family and friends, in a pool or something. And have her daddy do it. That would be really special. Take pictures and make it be a family memory. I bet that would be more comfortable for her.
I am glad you are having a good time visiting family and friends.

That looks so good minus the onions. I think the coke counts, I think every bit counts, why else would they make low fat chocolate?? ;P Besides, you are on vacation, enjoy it. Take care

Gosh you are having fun. That is so neat!

Your little girl will be ready soon to be baptized. My daughter is 12 and saved at age 3, but has not felt ready yet. I'm not sure why, but she is old enough to decide.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. Your girls are so cute.

I loved the story about Sprite and your 2 year old. Now she's hooked...uh oh!

I'm happy for Alicia winning your prize. She is a sweetie.

More later,

It was probably pretty frightening if she hasn´t been dunked before. Joseph practiced with our boys a lot. they had "mock" baptisms in the pools in the hotels we had to stay in on furlough. LOL

What a funny picuture of you and Arancha! You two are hilarious! It must be so great to be together with your family!

Look into YMCA to work off those extra fries though. jeje... they sometimes give discounts to Pastors. I am tempted to sign up for Jillian Michael´s plan. Got 15lbs more to go.

I say enjoy it while you can and worry about the calories later. Besides that's what I always tell myself ;)

You're right my friend. Your daughter will be ready. She just might need some extra time. You're a great mom. So whatever you guys decide as a family will be the right decision.

Take care my friend!
And enjoy your time!
