Christmas is coming!

Christmas is almost here!. Really. Can't you believe it? I can't. I don't know where this year went, but it did, and it is almost time for the best month of the year. :). And it is not because it is also the month of my birthday. Yes ladies, December 4th, I will be turning 31.... I mean 26 hehehh ;).
That is another one that don't know how happend. How is it that I am 31???? I don't remember my birthdays after 26.... But I won't talk about that right now, I could get going let me tell you.
December is also the month of Nicole's brithday. She will be 5... my little girl is 5... I will leave that one alone too.
I guess it seems like I still have a while. I remember, by the middle of November, I will get really excited about Christmas while we live in the States. You know, Thanksgiving is not over yet and they have Christmas decorations all over. Spain is a little different, at least it is how it was a few years back. Decorations will be up in the middle of December but they won't put them down until the 7th of January. Why? Well because in Spain we don't have Santa, we have "The Three Wiseman". They would "come" the night of the 5th of Jan.
I am looking forward putting up the tree, decorating the house, wraping up the presents.... I can't wait to start going shopping for the girls and Matthew. I can't wait to start remembering with the girls about the story of Christmas ( we will start in December), I can't wait, I can't wait...
So what made me write about this...? This morning I realized that it is November and that I need to start making christmas list and start shopping. I also want to start looking for activities for the girls to start doing in December that would make the season more exciting. I want to start looking for Christmas stories where the importance it is put in the birth of Jesus.
I know you guys are not much into commenting, but wether you know me or not, if you have any ideas of stories, crafts... let me know.

No stories or crafts, but I have Christmas music. One of my songs is called Happy Birthday Dear Jesus, and I think kids would like to sing it. It's at Songs Of Faith in my profile. Hope you enjoy it!

I turned 31 this past September. I don't know why, but for some reason it was a difficult age to get adjusted to. I couldn't believe that I wasn't just 30, but that I was in my 30's!!

Happy Birthday early!

Just came across your blog on KJVblogs that Deborah set up. I wish we had Three Wise Men rather than Santa. I'm afraid he has taken over here in the states. It would be nice to see something spiritual about Christmas.

Aliene, you are right. People here are not explaining their children about the real reason for Christmas, but it is something biblical and something we can use to break the ice and be able to talk to the kids about Jesus. Thanks you for reminding me of something else to praise God about :).

Hey girl...something we are going to try this year (this is an idea that someone gave me a while back) is, starting December 1st through the 25, to read the Bible account of the Christmas story everyday, out loud as a family. The idea is to hopefully have at least most of it memorized by Christmas day! Also, something that Aaron loves is making paper chains with 25 links and each day we pull a link off the chain, until it's Christmas. Last year we did that for Thanksgiving too (you might remember seeing it) and we wrote things we are thankful for on each link. Any ideas you might have? Let me know...I love the Christmas season!!!

I like the link idea Deanna, I remember that from last year, I had forgotten about it but now that you mention it I remember. I was thinkink about doind the link with the days on one side and then have the things we are thankful for from this year in a separate way. Maybe get a velvet bag and they can put one in each day and maybe the week before christmas start reading them aloud and remember those things.... thanks for the idea.... I was planning on the Christmas story from before... so I like that one too :)
I will let you know if I find something cool
